Lite info om VA böckerna !
With over five million Vampire Academy books in print, there are a fair few of them floating around. But where do they stand in the scheme of things? Publishers Weekly have collected numbers from various publishers for the 2010 calendar year, and there are several interesting Vampire Academy facts among their lists.
Last Sacrifice came in at number ten on the hardcover frontlist, having sold 484,849 copies. The first thing that springs to mind though, is that Last Sacrifice was published on December 7th, 2010. Which means thatLast Sacrifice sold, on average, 161,616 books a week. In comparison Stephanie Meyer’s Bree Tanner novella sold 2,284,066 in 2010, with a release date somewhere around June seventh, that equates to an aproximate 78,760 copies a week for the year of 2010. Of course there are other factors to consider, such as a drop in sales after the release, but it still looks good to us.
We do have to consider though, that on March 10th Penguin Paranormal announced that Last Sacrifice had reached 100,000 sales since it’s release date. This makes us wonder if there has been some sort of mix up. We have reached out to Penguin Paranormal for comment and we will update you if they respond.
Spirit Bound came in close behind, in thirteenth position. Having sold 420,485 (13140 a week on average) Spirit Bound barely beat out Barack Obama’s Of Thee I Sing.
On the paperback side of things Blood Promise came in at number thirty, having sold 191,095 copies during 2010. Considering it wasn’t a new release 3674 copies a week is pretty awesome.
On the paperback backlist Vampire Academy also warranted a mention, selling 141,925 copies to place at 124th.
Well done Richelle, it is awesome to see that new people are obviously still discovering Vampire Academy! It will be rather interesting to see how well the new editions, spin-offs, graphic novels and guide books do this year!
Så det som egentligen står är hur många exemplar av böckerna som har sålts ;)
